SPECTACULAR ART EXPOSITION

A spectacular and splendid exposition of innovative artwork created in vivid medium and techniques and styles by veteran master artists of the bygone era and present scenario as well will be presented in the Auditorium hall, Jehangir Art Gallery, M. G. Road, Kala Ghoda, Mumbai 400001 by Rabi Art Gallery of Shantiniketan from 28th May to 3rd June, 2024. It will be open for free public viewing there daily from 11 am to 7 pm and showcase subtle nuances of the creative and innovative art work created by Indian Masters ranging from pre-Independence to contemporary era in a diverse range of rare art works in different mediums and styles which will be a great opportunity for collectors and viewers, art lovers and promoters to witness the diversity and complexity of Indian Art under one roof and get duly enlightened by their ethnic hues in apt perspectives of visual arts..

This show was inaugurated on 28th May 2024 by Padmashree Dr. Prakash Kothari  Art Collector in the presence of  Prabhakar Kolte Eminent Artist, Prashant Kashikar Managing Director at Mika Engineering India Pvt Ltd., Rtn Khuzem Sakharwala , Co Founder Rotary Club of Mumbai Bravehearts, Ajay Mehta Art Collector, Dr. Jayesh Dakre Nueo Sciencetist and Smart future Counselar, Mahendra Kalantri , Director Acclaim Systems India Pvt Ltd.

Rabi Art Gallery, Shantiniketan, W.B. is a reputed name in Indian Art world and is synonymous with quality and innovation in the present art Scenario. Sumanta Paul, the honorary Advisor of Rabi Art Gallery who will showcase only the genuine Indian Artwork which is true to the stylish innovations in the Indian Style of works created by masters in this field. Sumanta Paul is a son of late Rabi Paul, a veteran artist of the bygone era who was the disciple of Ramkinkar Baij and Nandlal Bose. He has also closely worked with the well-known director Satyajit Ray for some time. Being a visionary and advocate of Indian Contemporary art, Sumanta Paul founded the Rabi Art Gallery in Shantiniketan in 1996 and has been working closely with several artist and has thereby enriched his authentic collection of rare and splendid artworks over a span of more than a quarter of the century.

The present exhibition showcases about 2 centuries of artworks using vivid practices, significant trends and a rare peculiarities in the perspectives of Indian Art emphasizing the highlights of the Bengal School. It envisages the spectacular water colours, tempera and Gouache techniques created by eminent artists like Ramkinkar Baij, Abanindranath Tagore, Ganganendranath Tagore, Nandalal Bose, Binod Behari Mukherjee, Chittaprosad Bhattacharya, Somnath Hore, Ganesh Pyne, Robin Mandal, Jaimini Roy and Rabi Paul in their typical expressive conceptual works of Modern Version. The exhibition also showcases the innovative and creative endeavours of contemporary artists such as Paritosh Sen, Nirode Majumdar, Sunil Das, Prokash Karmakar, Lalu Prasad Shaw, K. Laxma Gaud, along with veterans like Jogen Chowdhury, Samir Aich, Subrata Gangopadhyaya, Sunil Padwal, T. Vaikuntham and T. V. Santosh and many more in their typical stylish techniques.

It is a rich spectrum of splendid artwork in well accomplished visual language of expressions adopted by veterans and master artists in the present art scenario and offers a rich tapestry of culture, spirituality, traditional heritage via historical significance vivid sentimental mindscapes in the sensitive mind of young girls in apt environment, royal cultural heritage nuances of social life and their norms in urban and rural environments, beauty of nature in various seasons and its panoramic highlights, still life peculiarities revealing Indian Culture & its traditional heritage in apt perspectives of visual arts. The works in Oil, Acrylic colours on Canvas, Ink on Paper, Gouache on Paper, Tempera Gouache on cloth pasted on board, Pastel on paperm mixed medium etc. created by the various master artists based on numerous thematic peculiarities and specialities are stunning, amazing and marvellous and certainly leave their deep impact on all due to the skilful composition, colour tonal harmony as well as superb expressional subtle nuances.
